biatch gardening

i know that not everyone likes the purmulas, but i couldn’t resist them. i bought 30, all fuchsia with a yellowy orange centre and added them to the potted windmill palms in the front. my friend tracey bell calls it bitch gardening and does it in the winter whenever someone comes from elsewhere in canada. i did it for my friends that came to visit me this february from toronto. they won’t last long, i am already picturing what cascading summertime plant will replace them. it looks like it’s time to power wash the fence again… ah monsoon season!

happy birthday to my sister n.

the red cordyline at the front door looks a giant feather duster. i love lighting the garden at night so we can see it from inside throughout the evening.
